An X user, remus_r (@remiremus_), claimed on December 21, 2024, that the video’s release date might have been revealed through a security breach at Rockstar Games.

The Leak Details

According to the user, the leak came from another source, "theleaker," and included a screenshot reportedly linked to Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company. The image stated the trailer, titled Watch Trailer 2, would debut on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 9 AM ET.

 

Security Measures Raise Doubts

Despite all the hype, many are questioning whether the leak is indeed authentic. Reportedly in 2023 after a series of big leaks, Rockstar Games enforced scrapping some strict security protocols along with making all its remote employees return to the office. This makes it very hard to even think of this as another big breach.

To add more drama, the official Rockstar games just gifted all their employees some merchandise themed GTA 6 which added fuel to the already blazing theories within the community. This time, fans spotted several references to the number 27 in the content of shared merch images which, to their very last guess, could only ensure the date of December 27.
