Game Awards 2024: Netmarble Unveils Game of Thrones: Kingsroad

At The Game Awards 2024, Netmarble displayed a thrilling trailer for their well-awaited action-adventure RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. The game is officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and HBO and promises to be available globally in 2025. It takes players deep into the world of Westeros, full of danger and intrigue.

The New Tale in Westeros

Kingsroad happens to be set during the fourth season of the Game of Thrones TV series and is setting itself as a new story as it introduces a new character, who finds himself becoming the heir to House Tyre-a noble house created just for the game, based in the northern regions of Westeros and thus dripping within the familiar lore of the series.

The heir will come across political manoeuvring, cutthroat rivals, and the imminent threat of the White Walkers. As legacy is defended, alliances are made in survival along the famed Kings Road.

Game Play and Customization

Kingsroad offers a detailed character creator, allowing players to customize their character's appearance and personality. Players can also choose from three unique classes, each offering a different way to experience the game:

• Sellsword: An agile fighter, the sellsword possesses versatile combat abilities.
• Knight: A strong stalwart of honour and arms.
• Assassin: A shadowy, deadly specialist at efficient kills.

Each class comes with special abilities, giving players the freedom to choose how they approach battles and alliances.

Global Release Plans

The game is primarily designed for mobile devices, but Netmarble may expand it to other platforms in the future. It will be released across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East, with some parts of Asia receiving it later. Specific release dates will be announced in 2025.
