Tencent confirms the Delta Force PC open beta launching on December 5, 2024, on Steam and Epic Games Store. New operators, game modes, and live-service updates are coming soon.
Recently , Tencent officially confirmed that open beta for the PC version of Delta Force will be launched on 5 December 2024. The shooter is going to come out on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Tencent's proprietary launcher.ncher. So, the fans have been waiting for quite a long time. The open beta is indeed a bigger step than planned Early Access.
Key Points of the Open Beta
As released by Tencent on Steam, the reason for this advancement of the open beta is how fast the development team is doing it and due to strong community feedback.
Here's what gamers can anticipate:
-
New Operator: The open beta will introduce a brand-new operator, which will only mean that there's more tactical variety in store for gamers.
-
New Game Modes & Maps: The player shall access fresh game modes and maps, which really take the core combat experience of this game to a new dimension.
-
Full Live-Service Content : The actual beta will feature full live-service updates to make sure that there is no gap within those content drops and improvements.
-
No Progress Resets: In contrast, unlike previous testing phases, the progress made in the beta is carried over into future builds.
Tencent went ahead to assure the public that the open beta would possess "tons of new content, such as maps, game modes, Operators, guns, and vehicles" aside from the necessary game changes, including bug fixes, improved performance, and a strong anti-cheat system.
Paid Content and Future Console Plans
While Delta Force will be free to play, Tencent confirmed that paid content will come in the form of Battle Passes, weapon skins, and vehicle skins. The game is still on track for Q1 2025 on console and mobile, but one major caveat for players, at least at launch, will be a lack of controller support; it could be introduced later in updates, though.
Community Reactions
A lot of people online have responded with mixed feelings regarding the no-progress-reset approach. For example, some people are elated with this because it means that whatever time is spent in beta will never be a waste. On the other hand, some others have raised concerns about the lack of support for the controller right at launch, mainly because they'd like to have a more flexible gaming setup.
It will be well on its way into Delta Force open beta soon, at which point excitement will be sky-high for its bug-free and content-rich launch. As the month of December unfolds, PC players will get to experience a lot of what's in store-new operators, game modes, and updates to the live-service.
