Silicon giant Qualcomm has just shared new details around its upcoming eSports tournament for the Indian market. As per the details, the company opened registrations a couple of days back for its upcoming tournament named, Qualcomm Snapdragon Conquest Tournament. This latest information came weeks after the company initially announced the competition in India. In addition to this, the company also outlined the details regarding the tournament including the playing format and more. First up, the participants should be “above the age of 12” with a Garena Free Fire account “above level 10”. Qualcomm Snapdragon Conquest registrations open, details
As part of the eligibility rule, interested participants “will be required” to create a four-member team. To reach this, players can also invite their friends or other Free Fire players to fill up their teams. Talking about the tournament itself, the Snapdragon Conquest will go on for three months. It will start off after the two-week registration period. The registrations will go on until December 20, 2020, and the in-game qualifiers will start from December 21. Qualcomm will start seeding players from December 27. The company will hold an “in-game qualifier” once every few weeks with a total of three playoffs rounds followed by a league stage. This league stage will lead to the “Grand Finals”.
Digging deeper into the details of the different stages of the game, teams will need to play 15 classic matches where top 10 scores will be considered. These scores will consider the total squad kills, survival time, accuracy, and more. Qualcomm will select a total of 648 teams for the first round of playoffs as part of the Snapdragon Conquest eSports tournament. Here, the company will divide the teams into 54 groups where the top four from each group will proceed. Top 216 teams (from 18 groups) will proceed to round 2 and 72 to round 3.
Round 3 of the Playoffs will include 18 matches where the teams will be divided into 6 groups. The top 3 from each group will make it to the league stage. All these rounds will have a single-elimination format with “Best of 1” to decide things. Once in the league stage, 18 best teams from the playoffs and 6 invited teams will compete over a period of four weeks. This round will have a “Best of 4” round-robin format to decide the top 12 teams for the finals. Top 12 teams will compete in the “Best of 12” format over two days to win the Free Fire Open 2020 Champions award.
Prize pool for Snapdragon Conquest Tournament
As per the details, the tournament will have a total of Rs 50 lakh with the winner taking home Rs 20 lakh. The first runner-up will take Rs 8 lakh and the second runner-up Rs 5 lakh. Beyond this, the tournament is also offering prizes for individual players and teams for exceptional performance. The list of these awards includes Rs 1 lakh for the team with the highest kills in the grand finale. Rs 50 thousand for the player with the most kills in the grand finale. The most valuable player award will fetch Rs 50,000 while the most popular team will get Rs 1 lakh. Both these awards will be selected after fan voting.
