Phasmophobia major update rolls out with a Tier system and better gameplay experience

As the fanbase for Phasmophobia soars, the Devs took their plans a level higher as they prepare to launch the game for consoles as well.

The 4-player survival horror game has sparked the interest of many aspiring Ghostbusters around the world, as the monthly patch notes and updates make sure the game is always kept up to the mark.

As all the OG’s and veterans would be aware of, the game came with a set of basic equipment like torches, DOTs projector, Salt, UV light, Video cameras and the regular camera to take pictures of evidences. The game only had the concept of levels, and all equipment was open to stock up as long as you had the money for it.

But now, the Devs have worked on a tier system, where the upgradation of the equipment would depend on how much you’ve grinded through the game. The rules stay the same, figure out the ghost type and complete the objectives for those extra dollars.

Nightmare and Insanity mode would guarantee more rewards XPs and money, but the evidence would be cut down to almost half and the hunts would not depend on the average sanity of the players either. Talking about sanity, the Activity monitor and the one keeping tabs on the player’s sanity would be busted, so good luck with figuring all that out, guys.

In the recent update, the equipment’s appearance and performance would be based on your tier level, 1 obviously be the lowest and 3 being the prestige level. Certain equipment would also be blocked off, but all you need to do is play the game and level up to unlock those.

Tier 1 is the very basic starter tier, where all the equipment you were initially used to would look ugly and (hopeless), but we promise you the work just the way they did before.

Tier 2 is around level 25-20, where all equipment is available in their next best form, and some next ones you were initially deprived off should also unlock. Personally, getting through tier 1 was a definite struggle, imagine trying to rummage your way through the house with no salt or crucifixes OR even a smudge stick?

Tier 3 unlocks around level 55-60, and all the equipment will be upgraded to their best version, which in my opinion looks very professional and “boujee” as this gen would call it. Their performance would also be a level higher, being more accurate in searching for evidences and lasting longer.

We can’t wait for console players to join the fun, as we’ll witness better loaded lobbies as well as enjoy the first-timer struggles of them trying to figure out the game too. However, we’ll also be waiting for more ghosts, cursed items and maps to come out in future updates, as this game deserves every ounce of recognition it can get.
