Now, if you’re not into all the flashy style NFS Unbound will offer, EA has confirmed that these design effects will be completely optional and can be turned off.
Need For Speed Unbound customisation options have just been teased by EA in the latest video on the Need for Speed social media account. NFS Unbound is set to feature the most stylized game in the famous racing game franchise. Featuring anime-style visuals and various design effects, NFS Unbound is looking to allow racers to personalize their experience when street racing in the upcoming game. Here’s a new clip which shows off some of the various options players will have when deciding the look of their ride out on the turf.

Now, if you’re not into all the flashy style Need for Speed Unbound will offer, EA has confirmed that these design effects will be completely optional and can be turned off. If players want, they can even start the game without having any of these effects present in the game.
However, they later clarified that the trail light and tire smoke cannot be disabled. Fair enough since that has been a signature element in all NFS games.
Hey guys, #NFSUnbound update from your boy - Basic Tail Smoke and Trail Lights can’t be disabled, everything else can be though 😎 https://t.co/Qj4nGt7fzk

Coming back to the customizations, the clip showed a list of customisation options that will be present in the game, allowing players to modify the design effects on their cars. That wasn’t all, we saw a glimpse of what gameplay in NFS Unbound looks like and it looks really promising. There is full-fledged use of art style accompanied by the speed and thrill NFS has built its name on.
NFS Unbound will be one of the most unique titles among recent NFS games and with Criterion Games back to develop NFS, it might be the title that finally propels NFS back to its former glory. Only time will tell though but racing fans won’t have to wait long enough to find out. Need for Speed Unbound will release on December 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
