"It needs to be nerfed", Snax reacts to the extensive use of DBS in BGMI competitive
DBS has undoubtedly been the first choice of BGMI and PUBG Mobile players, thanks to the high damage it inflicts in close-range encounters. However, Snax has called for nerfing the weapon as it is ruining the intensity of close-range fights.
The use of DBS has been at its peak in Battlegrounds Mobile India's (BGMI) competitive esports. It looks like the DBS meta has taken over the BGMI competitive scene; at least one player on every team is using DBS as a primary weapon during close-range fights. The high damage that DBS inflicts makes it one of the deadliest weapons in PUBG Mobile and Battlegrounds Mobile India. Popular BGMI esports player Raj "Snax" Verma recently shared his views on the use of DBS in BGMI esports tournaments.
Snax, while doing the watch party of the Skyesports Champions Series on Loco, reacted to Jonathan getting down to the enemy who was using DBS. He said that DBS is ruining the fun and intensity of close-range fights.
"I have seen Akshat doing multiple 1v4 clutches using DBS, when someone does a clutch using this weapon, it's satisfying and frustrating at the same time. I feel it's ruining the intensity of close-range fights," said Snax.
Adding to this, Snax also mentioned that the player using DBS feels good after knocking down the enemy while the player who gets knocked tends to get frustrated. He said that instead of removing this weapon, developers should nerf it. "Someone who knocks enemies using DBS feels great while the one who gets knocked gets irritated. Instead of removing DBS from the game, I feel it needs to be nerfed."
In March 2023, popular Indonesian PUBG Mobile player Made "Luxxy" Prabaswara also shared his concerns over the use of DBS in the competitive scene of PUBG Mobile. He said that the weapon is way too overpowered and should be made drop-exclusive again.
It has been evident that DBS has been used extensively by players playing different versions of PUBG Mobile. The weapon has turned out to be destructive in close-range encounters and has lessened the use of ARs and SMGs. The players have witnessed different weapon meta in PUBG Mobile and BGMI. The weapons that have been buffed with a particular update have also been nerfed by the developers.
DBS, which used to be a drop-exclusive weapon, was made available as a part of normal loot in the game. Since then, the players have been using it more than usual. It would be important to see whether Krafton would nerf DBS or whether the weapon would continue to be used in the same way as it is now.
