Cyberpunk 2077 DLC set to launch in 'early 2021' but we are not too sure
This comes just days after we reported the first class action lawsuit against the company for 'misleading statements'. Let's check out the details around Cyberpunk 2077 including the upcoming DLC this year, here.
Some new information has surfaced regarding Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most anticipated AAA video games for 2020. CD Projekt Red, the Polish game developer and publisher behind the game shared details regarding the fresh content. The game publisher highlighted that the new downloadable content (DLC) for Cyberpunk 2077 is set to arrive soon. This comes just days after we reported the first-class action lawsuit against the company for “misleading statements”. The lawsuit is just the latest in the string of controversies around the quality of the game at launch. Let's check out the details around Cyberpunk 2077 including the upcoming DLC this year, here.
Cyberpunk 2077 DLC coming soon, details
As noted above, the game developer shared the details around the DLC on a dedicated page on the Cyberpunk 2077 website. A report from Engadget also stated that the page has been around since the launch of the game. However, it did not gain popularity until the past couple of days. CD Projekt Red also reaffirmed that it will offer this DLC free-of-cost. It is likely that we may see the update in the first quarter of 2021. However, it is also possible that this DLC could be delayed further down the road. This is likely because the game developer has already promised major patches to fix the performance issues on Xbox One and PS4. The company is expected to roll out these patches in January, and February 2021.
According to previous reports, CD Projekt Red had shared an overview regarding the future content plan of the game. The company has stated that it will likely release a mix of free add-ons along with paid expansion packs. This is identical to what players have seen on its previous games like the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Looking back, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received 16 free add-on packs after the release of the game along with two expansions.
This is not the first time we heard about the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. As noted in the past, the company delayed the reveal of the free DLC content just days before the launch. CD Projekt Red noted that it would rather focus on the launch instead of working on the DLC. Beyond this, the company is still on track to bring the multiplayer version of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2022.
