Asus ROG Masters CS:GO APAC Championship eSports tournament announced, details
According to the announcement, “about 500” CS:GO teams from 15 countries will compete in the APAC eSports tournament. The list of the countries includes Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. Asus ROG also revealed that three qualified teams from India will take part to aim for the top three spots. The company has also divided the tournament into three different stages. These include the country-specific qualifiers, the country-specific finals, and then the Asia Pacific Finals. Though the Asia Pacific Finals are just a month-long, all the stages will extend the event to about two months.
Asus noted that the India qualifiers will take place in the second week of April, on the 8th. The company has scheduled the finals for April 10th where three teams will come on top to represent India. Interested players can check the live stream for the finals on the YouTube channel and Facebook page for Asus ROG India. Asus noted that it will automatically place professional CS:GO teams in the finals. This ensures that non-pro, enthusiast teams can compete with the pros in the finals for a fair competition.
The APAC finals will be held from April 22 to April 25 and one can catch the live stream on the pages mentioned above. Asus also outlined the prize pool for the event outlining that the country qualifiers will come with a prize pool of $800, $400, and $200 for the first, second, and third sport. Moving to the APAC finals, the first place will fetch $10,000, 2nd place, $3,500, and the third spot $1,500. Interested teams can head to the ROG Masters website to register to take part in the country qualifiers. The registrations are set to close on February 28.
