Gaming hardware maker Asus has just announced a new edition of its esports series, the ROG Showdown. However, unlike the past ROG Showdowns, this upcoming tournament will be an all-women competition aimed at promoting equality and empowerment. The company has shared all the relevant details around the tournament including the timeline of the different stages and the prize pool. This tournament is scheduled around International Women’s Day to highlight and celebrate women gaming enthusiasts. In addition, Asus ROG also extended an invite to all the “women professional teams and enthusiasts” for the tournament. All-women Valorant Asus ROG Showdown tournament announced, details

Asus has already started the registrations for the ROG Showdown. Interested Valorant teams can head to the tournament website to sign-up to take part in the tournament by March 6. Once the registrations conclude, ROG Showdown qualifiers are scheduled to take place on March 7 and 8. Selected teams will compete in the Semi-Finals on March 9 and the top teams will compete in the Grand Finale on March 10. The ROG Showdown will feature an overall prize pool of Rs. 75,000 where the winner will take home Rs. 50,000 and the first runner-up will get Rs. 25,000.

It is worth noting that this tournament is not limited to the teams based in India. Instead, it is open for all the professional women teams “across South East Asia”. Asus also confirmed that multiple Valorant teams have already “expressed keen interest to participate” in the tournament across India, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. The Business Head for the Consumer and Gaming PC, System Business Group segment at Asus India, Arnold Su also shared a statement. Su said, “ASUS believes in constantly empowering and uplifting the experience of the esports community regardless of their demographics.”

Su went on to add, “We aim to support everyone who demonstrate the passion and true potential to grow and #WomenInEsports initiative is one such step in that direction, where we will leverage our flagship property – ROG showdown, to celebrate the soaring gender diversity in the esports industry. It gives us great pleasure to announce the opening of #WomenInEsports that will see participation from women from across South East Asia, who will come together to showcase their talent and skills.” He concluded with, “It will allow them connect with like-minded participants in community to together spearhead the women’s movement in the e-sports industry.”
