The Digital Gaming India Expo
This was scheduled from 27-29 March 2023, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and brought together the entire eco-system from India and overseas to take the Indian Gaming Industry to the next level. The forum facilitated collaboration among gaming companies and showcased institutions working on cutting-edge technology, including AR/VR, Blockchain, NFT, Robotics, Digital Gaming, and more.
BGMI Relaunch
The return of BGMI, previously known as PUBG Mobile, was met with excitement and anticipation, as players eagerly awaited the revamped version of the popular battle royale game. The re-launch of BGMI not only reignited the competitive spirit within the Indian gaming community but also highlighted the immense potential of the country's gaming market.
Esports Make its Debut in Asian Games
In a historic move, Esports make its debut in one of the most prestigious events Asian Games 2023 Hangzhou, China in 2022. This move provided competitive gaming (another name for eSports) with the much-needed approval from the conventional side of sports.
Government Encouragement to Esports
In a significant move, Bihar announced plans to host its first-ever esports championship, reflecting the state's recognition of the immense potential of esports as a platform for fostering talent and engaging the youth. This development not only underscored the growing inclusivity of gaming across different regions of India but also highlighted the efforts being made to promote gaming as a viable career option.
The Madhya Pradesh government's initiative to establish an esports academy signalled a forward-looking approach towards nurturing talent and providing specialized training for aspiring gamers. This bold step not only underscored the government's recognition of esports as a legitimate and burgeoning industry but also paved the way for the professionalization of gaming in India.
Furthermore, the Uttar Pradesh government's signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Garena to host international tournaments demonstrated the state's commitment to positioning itself as a prominent destination for esports events. The collaboration with Garena, a leading game developer, and esports organizer, is poised to elevate Uttar Pradesh's status as a hub for competitive gaming on a global scale.
India Vs Korea Invitational BGMI Tournament
The year 2023 also witnessed a series of high-profile gaming tournaments and events that captured the attention of enthusiasts across the country. Notable among these was the "India Vs Korea Invitational 2023," which saw Organisations from both countries showcasing their skills and competing in a thrilling display of talent and sportsmanship.
Ishowspeed India Tour

IGDC 2023
The International Game Developers Conference (IGDC) 2023 concluded its annual event with a spectacular showcase of innovation, insights, and a glimpse into the future of the gaming industry. Boasting more than 180 speakers and 150 sessions, IGDC transformed into a bustling hub of creativity and expertise, attracting a diverse audience of students, professionals, indie studios, as well as representatives from publishing and tech companies.
Skyesports Championship 5.0 LAN
This amazing event took place in the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, Bengaluru from 3rd to 5th November. Blind Esports bagged a whopping 48 lakhs by showing spectacular gameplay.
Redbull MEO
The BGMI Red Bull M.E.O Season 6 Finals concluded, and Celsius Esports emerged as the champions. Demonstrating consistent excellence over the three days of the tournament, Team Celsius secured their victory. Orangutan also delivered a commendable performance, finishing as the runner-up. HP Gaming Community Survey
the "HP Gaming Community Survey" offered valuable insights into the evolving preferences and behaviours of gamers, helping industry players and stakeholders to better understand and cater to the needs of the gaming community.
VALORANT Champions Tournament 2023This was the 3rd official tournament organized by Riot Games where Teams from all over the world come together on one stage and compete. Evil Geniuses bagged the first place and boy, was it amazing!
GTA 6 Trailer Launch
Furthermore, the introduction of new game titles and formats added to the diversity and excitement surrounding the gaming landscape in India. The 2023 annual Game Awards commenced on December 7 which honors all the achievements and memorable moments within the gaming industry.
VALORANT Convergence
Riot Games hosted its first-ever VALORANT tournament in India in "VALORANT Convergence". FUT emerged as a champion of the tournament. The tournament took place from 14-17 December at the Manpho Convention Center in the tech hub of Bangalore, featuring a total prize pool of USD 50,000.
BMPS 2023
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2023 concluded with a thrilling finale at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad. Blind Esports emerged as the champions in front of an enthusiastic audience of approximately 15,000 fans, securing a significant share of the Rs 1 crore prize pool. The grand finals, held from December 15 to 17, featured 16 teams battling it out for glory. Blind Esports showcased exceptional skill, strategy, and teamwork, amassing a total of 244 points to claim the top spot.
