PGL Set Forth 11 Tier 1 Counter-Strike events for 2025-26

PGL has recently unveiled ambitious plans to host a total of 11 Counter-Strike 2 tournaments over the coming years, marking a significant entry into the competitive landscape of CS events. These Tier 1 events are slated to occur from 2025-26 onwards, representing a fresh contender in the field.

The announcement came during the conclusion of the PGL Copenhagen Major 2024, where the tournament organizer hinted at expanding their presence in the esports scene with additional events.

For several years, a handful of tournament organizers, notably BLAST and ESL, have dominated the Counter-Strike 2 esports scene, making it challenging for new organizations to establish themselves.

Last year, Valve's announcement brought significant changes by discontinuing team and tournament organizer partnerships in August. This move effectively put an end to exclusive leagues, directly impacting established entities like BLAST and ESL.

The upcoming PGL Counter-Strike 2 events are as follows:

PGL 2025 Tournament Schedule:

  • PGL CS2 Tournament #1: February 10-24
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #2: March 31 - April 14
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #3: May 3-19
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #4: September 29 - October 13
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #5: October 18 - November 3

PGL 2026 Tournament Schedule:

  • PGL CS2 Tournament #6: February 16 - March 2
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #7: March 23 - April 6
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #8: May 2-18
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #9: August 3-17
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #10: September 28 - October 12
  • PGL CS2 Tournament #11: October 19 - November 2

Moreover, PGL emphasized that it stands as the last independent tournament organizer in the scene, distinguishing itself by not relying on government investment or venture capital.

The inaugural PGL Copenhagen Major marked a significant milestone as the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major. NAVI emerged as the victors, securing their place in history as the inaugural CS2 Major winners. Their triumph over FaZe Clan in the Grand Finals cemented their status. Additionally, NAVI's victory secured invitations to prestigious events such as the Esports World Cup 2024 and the BLAST World Finals 2024.
