Here's How You Can Get the Moonshot Medal in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
The Moonshot Medal is awarded when you kill an enemy from more than 250 meters away. However, because the battlefields in Black Ops 6 are short, traversing that distance can be difficult.
When you attain Prestige 1 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, you gain access to a series of unique challenges. One of these tasks is the "Squint Test," which requires you to obtain the Moonshot Medal. To earn it, you must kill an enemy who is 250 meters or more away.
What is the Moonshot Medal?
The Moonshot Medal is awarded when you kill an enemy from more than 250 meters away. However, because the battlefields in Black Ops 6 are short, traversing that distance can be difficult.
How to Earn the Moonshot Medal
To complete this task, utilise the Spring Mine (or similar explosive, such as the Blast Trap). The idea is to position the mine in one location and then move as far away from it as possible before it explodes. This creates the necessary distance for the medal.
Step-By-Step Guide
- Select the Right Map: Only a few maps in Black Ops 6 are large enough to support this trick. Search for:
- Vorkuta
- Red Card
- Scud
- Vault
Use the Spring Mine Field Upgrade. Equip the Spring Mine as a field upgrade.
If you're playing in Infected mode, the Spring Mine is already set as your Field Upgrade.
- Plant the Mine: When you’re in the game on the right map, place the Spring Mine at one end of the map. Try setting it in a spot where a lot of enemies pass by to increase the chance that one of them triggers it.
- Get to the Opposite End of the Map: After putting the mine, sprint to the other end of the map as quickly as possible. The goal is to go as far away as you can before an enemy activates your mine.
- Wait for the Explosion: If an enemy steps on your mine while you are at the opposite end of the map, you should receive the Moonshot Medal! Because you're literally "killing" an adversary from 250 meters away, the game will count it.
Tips for Success
-
Use Infected Mode: Infected mode is easier since enemies don’t fight back much, so you have a better chance of triggering the mine without being killed right away.
-
Play with a Friend: If doing this solo is hard, try co-op. Have a friend wait near the mine, then trigger it when you’re far away. This gives you more control.
-
Respawn Method: Another option is to plant the mine, then die, and respawn as far away as possible.
What Do You Get When You Earn the Moonshot Medal?
When you accomplish this task, you will receive the "Squint Test" calling card, which is part of the Prestige 1 set in Black Ops 6. This calling card is a one-of-a-kind reward for demonstrating your abilities.
