The OG Map: Back to the Basics

One of the main reasons people are attracted to Fortnite OG is that it brings back the Chapter 1 Season 1 map, the most simple version of Fortnite's battle royale island. Players who enjoy the early days of Fortnite will recognize this nostalgic setting, with the following:

  • Single grassy biome: No more fancy additions, just pure simplicity.
  • Racetrack to the east: This was originally just a dirt path—no fancy obstacles, just open space.
  • Moisty Mire: This replaces Paradise Palms, bringing back those swampy vibes.
  • Dusty Depot: Forget the later Dusty Divot, this was just a few warehouses in the middle of a wide-open field.

This map might be pretty bare compared to Fortnite's contemporary battlefields, but it's what makes it feel so nostalgic. Don't expect things to stay the same for too long, either, as Epic has also teased that the map will update over time, just as it did from 2017 to 2019.

Different Battle Passes for Each Mode in Fortnite OG

Each mode in Chapter 6 Season 1, including the OG Pass, is going to have its own special Battle Pass. Though it still remains under wraps, members of Fortnite Crew will have all the Battle Passes included with them. As a result, subscribers would be covered all along for their unlock for everything across different modes. Just the contents of the Fortnite OG Battle Pass are unknown, however surely throwback skins, emotes, and probably some unique exclusive rewards connected with the experience OG.

The Return of Double Pump

Here is the big one: Double Pump is returning to Fortnite OG! This strategy allowed for a fire double pump, as it used the swapping of shotguns to bypass the slow animation of pumping to fire two shots quickly. This was a game-changer and one of the most infamous metas in Fortnite history.

Of course, Epic Games patched out Double Pump with a cooldown timer years ago, but they've decided to bring it back—at least for a little while—during Chapter 6 Season 1. This is going to be a little blast from the past and offer a chance to hardcore fans of the classic meta to play before Epic decides if it is meant to be a permanent feature or not in the game.

What's Next for Fortnite OG?

Fortnite OG is making a grand return in Chapter 6, but it's clear that Epic Games wants to keep the mode fresh. Expect updates as the season progresses, with the return of old mechanics and possibly even some new surprises. And with a separate Battle Pass to unlock, there's plenty to grind for while you take a trip down memory lane.

So, whether you’re a veteran Fortnite player who remembers the good old days or a newcomer curious to see how it all started, Fortnite OG is your chance to relive the iconic battle royale moments that defined the game for millions.
