ESFI Opens eFootball (Mobile) Phase 1 Registrations for WESC 2025; Winner to Represent India at Asian Esports Games, Bangkok

Top Indian talents to compete for a chance to represent the nation at Asia's premier esports event in Thailand from Nov 27-28

The Electronic Sports Federation of India (ESFI) has officially launched registration for the Waves Esports Championship 2025's eFootball (Mobile) Phase 1. Indian people are asked to register by November 11, with the main tournament scheduled to begin on November 14. All matches will be played online, with live coverage of the quarterfinals and onwards on the ESFI YouTube channel.

WESC25 forms part of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) summit. Its winner will get the opportunity to represent India in eFootball (Open) at the prestigious Asian Esports Games (AEG) in Bangkok, Thailand, organised by the Thailand Esports Federation and sanctioned by the Asian Esports Federation (AESF) and Thailand’s Ministry of Sports. The AEG will showcase various esports disciplines, including Arena of Valor (Open) and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (Female), and will be held from November 25 to 29, 2024, with the eFootball competition slated for November 27 and 28.

ESFI President Vinod Tiwari commented on the occasion, saying, "As we launch the Waves Esports Championship 2025, we're not only celebrating the spirit of competitive gaming but also providing an incredible platform to showcase India's top talent on a continental scale."

Scheduled to be held from February 5 to 9, 2025, the WAVES Conference will include 25 unique challenges such as game design competition, AI installation etc. to highlight India’s creative potential. Part of the Government of India's 'Create in India Challenge - Season 1', WAVES aims to make India a global leader in media, entertainment and gaming, with WESC25 providing a platform for players to showcase their talent and compete at the national level in the and... international.

ESFI has also hosted the Asian Games 2018, and 2022 and the Commonwealth Esports Championship 2022, where India secured bronze medals and was placed fifth for League of Legends. Having affiliations with International Esports Federation, Asian Esports Federation and Global Esports Federation, ESFI is committed to elevating India’s presence in the global esports landscape.
