We are back with a new episode of 1v1 with India Today Gaming. This time, we sat down with Dinesh Sharma, the Business Head for the Commercial PC and Smartphone segment at ASUS India. We talk about the recently announced Asus ROG Phone 5 series that landed on the global stage. The device is still weeks away from sale and availability in the Indian market. Sharma shared the initial reception that the flagship gaming smartphone has received since the launch. In addition, we also spoke about everything that the company is planning regarding the gaming and eSports segment in India.
Sharma also shared how the ROG Phone 5 series is different from its predecessor, the ROG Phone 3. This includes a better processor, improved display, cleaner design, the return of the 3.5mm audio socket, and more. We also focused on the most demanded features and feedback from ROG Phone 3 users that the company considered while developing the new smartphone.
The conversation also steered to the challenges that Asus faces while working on a newer generation of a flagship smartphone. Besides, we also asked the company how it struck a balance between help features versus the features that provided an unfair advantage. Dinesh went on to explain the thought process behind the way Asus places itself in the market. In addition, we also got to know about a dedicated eSports mode that disables any features that provided an unfair advantage.
