Tomb Raider TV series in development at Amazon from Fleabag star Phoebe Waller Bridge

A new Tomb Raider series is in the works and it has none other than Phoebe Waller Bridge at the helm. Amazon is producing the series based on the popular video game franchise that gave rise to a number of movies and an anime series on Netflix. Here are all the details on this new Tomb Raider Amazon TV show that are now out.

Phoebe Waller Bridge, most popularly known for creating and starring in the Amazon show Fleabag, is now working on a series based on Tomb Raider. Waller Bridge will not be starring in the show. She will be working on the script, alongside co-executive producing it. This comes as a part of Waller Bridge’s deal with Amazon which now includes an adaptation of Claudia Lux’s Sign Here, and Tomb Raider.
The Hollywood Reporter informs in an exclusive, that Amazon’s former head of comedy and drama Ryan Andolina, and former head of overall deals Amanda Greenblatt will also be acting as co-executive producers, alongside Phoebe Waller Bridge. Dmitri M. Johnson is another co-exec producer of the show via his own company DJ2 Entertainment.
While no further information is currently available on the cast of the show, it is said that this TV adaptation of Tomb Raider is already “in the development stages”. However, we also don’t know anything about the release window of the series either.
As for the star filmmaker Phoebe Waller Bridge, she will soon be seen in Indiana Jones 5 which releases on 30th of June this year.
