While many fans likely wanted to see another action-packed adventure, this fresh approach introduces an entirely new dimension to the gaming experience.
Demon Slayer is a pretty popular manga series, and its popularity only grew with its anime adaptation (if you haven’t given it a watch, you MUST). It's been nearly two years since the release of the last Demon Slayer title too.
This game is can be played by 1 to 4 players (so bring your squad in!), with the main characters like Tanjiro Kamado and his friends embarking on a quest to chase the Magical Sword, which somewhat resembles the task of collecting stars in Mario Party games.

As a result, some fans may have been anticipating the reveal of a sequel like The Hinokami Chronicles 2 rather than a Mario Party-style board game.
