The Callisto Protocol stuttering issues have been fixed, and here's the DLC roadmap for 2023
Players suffered major stuttering issues in the game, causing visual glitches, dropping frame rates and even game crashes in some cases.
The Callisto Protocol was released last Friday and it wasn’t quite the launch Striking Distance Studios and Krafton had in mind. Players suffered major stuttering issues in the game, causing visual glitches, dropping frame rates and even game crashes in some cases. The issue has been fixed now with a new patch, which has helped the game’s Steam rating rise from ‘Mostly Negative’ to ‘Mixed’. While the game struggled to run smoothly, the company also released the DLC roadmap for The Callisto Protocol, you can find out what’s in store for players right here.
The Callisto Protocol stutter fix
The Callisto Protocol suffered performance issues on the PC as well as console platforms where players couldn’t even walk in an open area without stuttering issues. The issue was not related to PC specs as players with high-end PCs reported the same issues on social media. Inevitably, players review-bombed Krafton’s major AAA game to the point where it came down to 22%.
There are patches live for all consoles that should fix frame rate and crash issues that some of you have reported. We are listening, working hard on updates, and will have details to share on more upcoming improvements early this week. Thanks for your patience.

Glen Schofield, CEO of developer Striking Distance Studios, took to Twitter and explained that the problem happened because “A wrong file was patched". He was referring to the launch patch, which ironically, is supposed to improve performance, fix bugs and polishes the game before players give the game a run. “Just freakin error by someone rushing”, added Schofield.
Being fixed. A wrong file was patched. Any minute. Just freakin error by someone rushing.

With the new update fixing the stuttering, players have begun giving positive reviews for the game on Steam, bringing it from a low-point 22% to 56% positive reviews at the time of writing.
Schofield also explained the situation at Striking Distance Studios by saying, “It's launch day, this happens unfortunately. This is Krafton's 1st sp, console game so we're basically doing everything ourselves like a startup. I apologize".
Thanks for your patience. A PC patch is now available to improve gameplay stuttering issues due to shader compilation. After updating, you may see temporary stuttering in the game menu the first time you launch the app. We are working on further optimizations in the days ahead.
