Remnant 2’s record-breaking success: Smashing player count records within 24 hours!
Remnant 2 shatters records and dominates Steam charts with an impressive debut. Despite performance issues, the game soars in popularity and surpasses industry giants, drawing praise and criticism alike.
Remnant 2, which was released on July 25, took just about a single day to decisively surpass the highest records of From the Ashes, which could only ever support 48,194 concurrent players. On Twitch, the franchise's star replacement has attracted more than 100,000 viewers at once.
The game has the greatest sales for the week of July 18 to July 25 among all premium games on Steam. The game even surpassed industry titans like PUBG and Apex Legends. Additionally, Remnant 2 is presently ranked ninth on the homepage of Steambase's list of the top games.
Performance issues and criticisms surface
It has received criticism from both the player base and a variety of game critics due to the annoying performance issues the game exhibits, despite the fantastic opening week and generally positive feedback for the title.
Remnant 2 was made with “upscaling in mind,” claims the game's developer, Gunfire Games, which led to low FPS even on more expensive hardware without the use of programs like FSR and DLSS. These performance issues are unfortunately present in both the PC and console versions of the game.
Even with this significant flaw, Remnant 2 still had a tremendously impressive launch, which isn't too surprising considering how well-received From the Ashes was. On Steam, the game currently has a “Very Positive” rating, and Metacritic gives the PC version of the game an average rating of 80.
