IShowSpeed gets his PlayStation account banned, yikes!
Darren Jason Watkins Jr., the popular streamer recognized by his online moniker IShowSpeed, found himself facing the ban hammer as his PlayStation account got the boot.
The streamer's emotional response during one of his recent broadcasts added another chapter to the book of IShowSpeed's livestream adventures. IShowSpeed catapulted to fame in 2021 with his lively variety streams, showcasing animated reactions to the on-screen action. Despite being just 17 years old, he claimed the title of the most-watched YouTube streamer in 2022. The online sensation continues to soar, evident in the impressive growth of his YouTube channel, which has now surpassed 22.5 million subscribers as of early 2024.
In a mid-January livestream, IShowSpeed was taken aback when he received an email informing him of the temporary suspension of his PlayStation account. The reason? Inappropriate behavior in the PlayStation exclusive game LittleBigPlanet. What added a twist to the tale was IShowSpeed's genuine confusion, as he confessed to having no idea about LittleBigPlanet during the livestream. This peculiar situation marked a departure from the streamer's usual account suspensions and left fans scratching their heads.
After a quick Google search to unravel the mystery of LittleBigPlanet, IShowSpeed pointed the finger at his half-brother Dian for the ban. The 18-year-old let loose with some animated frustration on camera before dialing up his two-year-younger sibling for an interrogation. The truth spilled out as Dian confessed to uploading a custom sticker that landed them in hot water.
IShowSpeed was left scratching his head about why his brother chose to play LittleBigPlanet using his PlayStation account when he could have used his own profile. Dian, in his defense, claimed he had no other account to play on. Attempting to pacify his agitated brother, Dian assured IShowSpeed that it was just a three-day ban and not a permanent suspension. However, this revelation only seemed to fuel IShowSpeed's frustration, as he continued to express his displeasure about his account being tampered with. The drama reached its climax when IShowSpeed discovered that PlayStation had already lifted the ban by the time he realized he was suspended.
Sharing PSN passwords is considered a violation of the PlayStation Terms of Service. Sony's support pages emphasize that doing so can compromise the security of an account, and users are strongly advised never to disclose their login credentials to anyone.
