Crossfire X shutting down this May- announces devs Smilegate and Remedy Entertainment

Crossfire X is an FPS shooter that is less than a month old from acclaimed developers like Remedy Entertainment and Smilegate. Here's everything that you need to know about the game shutting down.

The month of February is raining down news of games shutting down. After Apex Legends Mobile, Battlefield Mobile, Rumbleverse, and Knock City, the latest to join the list is Crossfire X from Remedy Entertainment and Smilegate. The developer broke the news on February 3, that we have 3 more months before Crossfire X shuts down. Here’s everything you need to know. 

Crossfire X shutting down

Within less than a year of the game Crossfire X going live, developers Remedy Entertainment and Smilegate announced that they are shutting down service for the game. Crossfire X will be completing its first year this February 10th. Coming from the developers of games like Alan Wake, Control, and Lost Ark, the FPS shooter Crossfire X wasn’t quite well received by the audience. Regardless, the developers haven’t shared any specific reason as to what led them to this decision.

Crossfire X will not receive support after May 18, 2023 when the servers shut down.As a result, no new content will be added to the game including maps, modes and more.  Preparing for the shutdown, all sales of the game have already been halted. For context, the game was launched on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, and continues to be available on these platforms. 

Additionally, all purchases made within 20th January 2023 and February 3 will be refunded. While the in-game store is open, you cannot purchase premium currency anymore.However, you will be able to use products, including your remaining currency and in-game content that you already have unlocked till May 18th.
