Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay can't be disabled on Xbox and PC, but there's a way for Xbox players to disable crossplay
There is no option for PC players to turn off crossplay at the moment and they would be competing with and against console players right now.
Call of Duty titles usually have the option to enable or disable crossplay on all of the platforms but it seems like there’s no option yet for Xbox and PC gamers. Naturally, players took to social media to voice out their concerns since players on Xbox should have the option to not compete against PC players. Some players like to compete against opponents who are using the same hardware as them, which is a fair enough choice and a standard option in crossplay games.

Modern Warfare 2 beta did have the option to turn off cross-play on Xbox but it is not available in the full multiplayer release. Activision is yet to comment on this situation.

Each hardware and set of players have its own preference and ecosystem. FPS games on consoles have aim-assist whereas PC versions of games are more prone to hacking and cheating mechanics and software.

So uh, why can't we disable crossplay on Xbox, or PC but PS can? Fix it. And where is Tier 1?

How to disable Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay on Xbox
For Xbox, there’s a workaround. There’s no option in-game but crossplay can be disabled on Xbox by following these steps to turn crossplay in Xbox’s system settings:
1. Go to Settings on the Xbox
2. Go to General section and choose ‘Online safety & family’
3. Then head to ‘Privacy & online safety’ and choose ‘Xbox Live privacy’
4. Choose ‘View details & customise’, and then pick ‘Communication & multiplayer’
5. There will be a tab which says ‘You can play with people outside Xbox Live’, choose the ‘Block’ option.
This will block crossplay on Xbox on a system level, so if you wish to play any other crossplay game, you’d have to enable the option once again by following the same steps above and choosing ‘Allow’ in the end.
