Destiny 2: Lightfall introduces several new features

Loadouts

Players would now be able to quickly switch between loadouts. Aside from that, labelling has been added to the loadouts for easy identification. The new 'Guardian Ranks System' would allow players to unlock all 10 loadout slots. Each loadout label provides a variety of colours and icons from which to choose: Crucible, Raids, Trials, Gambit, Damage Types, and so on.

Mods and Mod Customization

As soon as the game is out, players will be able to design new builds for future adventures. Not all current Destiny 2 builds will be available at launch, but there will be a substantial selection, to begin with. Aside from that, developer Bungie intends to extend the buildcrafting choices season after season.

While building, the new Mod Customization will display the currently applied mods. There will also be a tab at the top of the screen where players may switch to view what perks and stats their current weapons have without having to return to the Character screen.

Obtaining the 'Guardian Rank 6' unlocks all mods in the game. Armor Mods will now benefit from weapons based on the sort of damage they do. Artifact mods are also being converted into unlockable benefits.

Match Game

Gamers will now have more flexibility in designing their builds in order to take advantage of new element-specific mods. To accomplish this, Match Game will be eliminated from high-difficulty activities, and game developers will make a few changes to how players can deal damage to different types of shields.

Champions

Some anti-Champion options to the subclasses will be added to complement the weapons:

  • Barrier Champions (Solar, Void, and Strand Counter)
  • Overload Champions (Arc, Stasis, and Void Counter)
  • Unstoppable Champions (Arc, Solar, Stasis, and Strand Counter)

Armor Charge Mods

Armor Charge is a redesigned system that contains numerous mods that once belonged to the Charged with Light and Elemental Well subfamilies of mods.

Elemental Wells

Instead of creating Elemental Wells, each subclass will now generate damage-type-specific spawned objects:

  • Ionic Traces for Arc
  • Firesprite for Solar
  • Void Breaches for Void
  • Stasis Shards will continue to be used for Stasis
  • Strand will also have an object

The ability to spawn these objects will not be provided by armour mods, but rather by the subclass.
