Game publisher Ubisoft has just made a new announcement regarding its latest Assassin’s Creed title, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This new announcement comes just a week after the game launched on the global stage. As per the announcement, Valhalla had the “biggest launch” in the history of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The company noted that the title continues “to break records” since the launch. In addition to selling the most number of copies than any other title, it also became the most sold Ubisoft game in the same period. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launch the biggest in the franchise, details
According to the announcement, the company noted that Valhalla sold more units on PC in the first week. This was due to an “all-time record” sales performance on the Ubisoft store. Julien Laferriere, a producer on Valhalla also issued a statement as part of the announcement thanking fans for their support. Laferriere stated, “We are truly delighted by the enthusiastic response from players and want to thank the fans for their incredible support. Delivering this game amid a global pandemic was a true tour de force by our teams, and it’s fantastic to see players enjoying the game so much.”
She went on to add, “Launch is only the beginning, and we have robust content plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will keep players immersed in their epic Viking saga for a long time to come.” Ubisoft has already shared details about its post-launch content plans as covered in the past. Valhalla will also get a new settlement area, Yule festival, a new game mode called “the River Raids”, and more. Other additions include increments in the “Ranks of Jomsviking”, and additional player skills, abilities, weapons, gear, and cosmetic items.
Ubisoft plans to launch Season 2 of the game in March 2021 with a new combat-oriented game mode, Settlement festivals, and more. It will share Season 3 information at a later date, but it is not the only content update planned for 2021. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will also get two expansions next year including Wrath of the Druids, and The Siege of Paris.
