A friendly guide on finding the Tainted Hydro Phantasms around Teyvat
One can understand how frustrating it is looking around for these Hydro blobs just for ascension needs, so here we are with another little episode of Genshin Impact guides for struggling Travellers, generously sponsored by yours truly
It’s no secret that there is a genuine scarcity of Hydro Phantasm enemies in Genshin Impact, even though their drops are very much needed for character ascensions. These are basically just questionable blobs of water that lack the gracefulness and elegance of the stunning Oceanid, so the tainted makes a little more sense even though it’s what on the inside that counts, doesn’t it?
These Tainted Hydro Phantasms are usually found guarding chests in Genshin Impact, sometimes accompanied by another Hydro Phantasm or a group of Hydro Slimes bouncing around. In order to get a drop, all you need to do is beat them to pulp, and the Hydro creature drops Tainted Water, a Scoop of Tainted Water, and a Newborn Tainted Hydro Phantasm but it could be either.
However, as you grind around the game a bit more and your world level soars up, the likelihood of receiving all three of these enemy drops increases as well. Classified as Elite enemies, they are relatively sparse across the map, and their drops are exclusively utilized for weapon and character ascension materials.
In Genshin Impact, there exists a grand total of 18 Tainted Hydro Phantasms (talk about scarcity). Among these, two are renowned for their formidable strength and are regarded as local legends due to their significant impact. Most of these Hydro Phantasms are not situated close to each other. However, players can locate a substantial group of these enemies dispersed around the Court of Fontaine area.
After you approach the Sin Domain, traveling towards the northern side you bring you across a Hydro Phantasm which would drop things once it’s beaten. Moving along, the eastern island has 2 more waiting just for you.
However, a majority of these Hydro enemies would be found in the newly introduced Fontaine region, where one of those can be found right on the beach shore. Around that area, a few of them would be guarding an exquisite chest so you can add two more to your list. Now, head to the Echoes of the Deep tide domain and go towards the Vivianne of the lake where a Tainted Hydro Phantasm can be spotted. Keep scavenging the area from there as most of them like to hang around in the region. And that’s it. Happy farming, and you’re welcome!
