Fracture and Lotus return to the Valorant competitive map pool in Patch 10.0, replacing Ascent and Sunset.
After an extended absence of over a year, Fracture is ready to return to the competitive map pool in Valorant Patch 10.0. The popular map which last appeared in Episode 7 Act 1 is returning along with Lotus. Yet, to help implement these alterations, Ascent and Sunset will also be removed from the active map pool.
Fracture’s Long-Awaited Comeback
Fracture has been regarded as one of the best maps for Valorant players since it came out, primarily because its design and ways of playing are quite different. Although the map was built to be used in the rotation during Episode 7 Act 2, it did disappoint the fans who were very much looking forward to playing with the map again. As the initial excitement died out, however, a statement from Riot Games came in indicating that Fracture would be available again in the next Patch 10.0, bringing back joy to the community.
Lotus Returns Alongside Fracture
Also, aside from Fracture, Lotus which was removed for some time during Episode 9 Act 2, is also going to be returned into the competitive pool. This indicates a change in strategy since Riot Games has started to prune the map pool now and then to ensure there is no monotony in the game.
Ascent and Sunset Leave the Active Rotation
To make room for these returning maps, Ascent and Sunset will be rotated out of the competitive pool. Ascent, one of the original maps from Valorant’s launch, has been a staple in both casual and professional play. Its removal signals a significant shift, as this is the first time it will no longer be part of the active map selection. Sunset, introduced more recently, will also step aside in this rotation.

Even though the specific update date has yet to be revealed, players can anticipate enjoying a new map experience whenever it drops. For now, fans can muster themselves to explore the geopolitics of Fracture and Lotus again while thanking two of the current mainstays for their service and retiring them.
