S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2’ First Major Patch Update Bug Fixes, Quest Progression Fixes And More

The highly anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has garnered a strong response since its release, with over a million players venturing into its dangerous post-apocalyptic world. However, the journey hasn't been entirely smooth. Responding to widespread feedback, the developers have announced their first major patch, aiming to address critical issues and enhance the gameplay experience.

 

Key Patch Details

1. Crash Fixes

• Resolved memory allocation errors and crashes tied to rendering, skeletal meshes, and cutscenes.

• Stability improvements across multiple scenarios to prevent sudden game exits.

2. Main Quest Progression Fixes

• Fixed bugs halting quest progression, including stuck NPCs and misplaced quest markers.

• Adjustments to key quests such as Visions of Truth and A Minor Incident to prevent soft locks.

3. Gameplay and Balance Updates 

• Revised weapon upgrade pricing to align with base weapon values.

• Improved NPC behavior during events like Emissions, ensuring more realistic responses.

4. Cut Scenes and Visual Fixes

• Restored missing facial animations and fixed misplaced NPCs.

• Addressed visual inconsistencies such as clipping clothing and detached character models.

5. Soft lock fixes

• Fixed an issue where the trade screen would not close for gamepad users as a result of the misplacement of ammo.

6. User Interface Improvements

• Fixed all quest notifications, interaction prompts, and dialogue-related text issues.
