Marvel Rivals offers an exciting crossplay one, with most modes offering crossplay play between platforms.
Marvel Rivals, the much-hyped hero shooter from NetEase Games, has quickly captured the attention of gamers everywhere. But a big question on everyone's mind is: Does Marvel Rivals support crossplay and cross-platform features? Let’s break it down in simple terms.
Does Marvel Rivals Support Crossplay?
Yes, Marvel Rivals supports crossplay—but there’s a catch. Players on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 can team up or battle each other in most game modes like Quick Match, Conquest, Custom Games, and Practice vs AI. That’s great news if you and your friends play on different platforms and want to squad up. However, the story changes in Competitive Mode. Here, PC players are restricted to playing with other PC players only.

What About Cross-Platform Progression?
As of now, cross-platform progression isn't supported. This means that the game progress—such as levels, unlocks, and achievements—is tied to the platform that you are playing on. Switching devices will require starting over.
The developers have acknowledged how much players want this feature and are looking into ways to add it in the future. But for now, there's no timeline as to when or if it might happen.

What's Next for Marvel Rivals?
At NetEase, the developers have been vocal about their plans to continue improving the game based on player feedback. Cross-progress is high on their list of requested features, so hopefully that will be possible as a post-launch update. In the meantime, players can enjoy simple crossplay (with a few exceptions) and watch for future announcements.
The experience offers an exciting crossplay one, with most modes offering crossplay play between platforms. It would get frustrating to switch between these, especially as the gamer frequently changes the devices. Moving forward with such games is great because it would then add cross-progression among many other things, taking features to a new level.
