Genshin Impact's Shenhe will miss another rerun in Version 5.2, frustrating Cryo fans. Learn about the leak, upcoming characters, and community reactions in this update.
Fans of Shenhe in Genshin Impact should now prepare themselves for the possibility of disappointment after the latest leak involving Cryo's return in Version 5.2- and she won't be back. This will be her second extended absence within several months. Very much disappointing to fans of the Cryo support unit, she remains an absolutely niche utility-one that has made her a figure in many team setups.
Leak Details
The leak-a huge one-by prominent Genshin Impact leaker hxg_diluc, shared by DK2-compares for the first time to reveal that Shenhe will not make his arrival on a rerun banner with the upcoming Version 5.2 update. This would mark the longest span any five-star character has been away in the game's history, now that she last featured in Version 3.5, paired with Ayaka.
The newest to the cast of characters, Shenhe, introduced in Version 2.4, has quickly won fans over since she can amplify Cryo damage for allies, thereby becoming a must-have support character, especially for teams which play on Cryo. Players normally keep her with the best Cryo DPS characters like Ganyu or Ayaka and she helps boost Cryo DMG plus the lowering of Cryo resistance of enemies. Meanwhile, though popularity remains high, extended absence continues to frustrate fans.
More importantly, no Shenhe re-run is coming due to a wider trend in the game, as it's been nearly a year since Genshin Impact introduced a new five-star Cryo character: the four-star character Charlotte, found in Version 4.2. Players eagerly await that change in upcoming versions.
Still, for Cryo fans, there is a silver lining. Teasers hint at Version 5.3 bringing in a new Cryo hero: Citlali. Citlali is a hero from the new Natlan region that may debut with the Pyro Archon, Mavuika, which was very highly teased to come in the next version. Hopefully, this will be the reemergence of Cryos after all these long dark months.

Community Reaction
Apparently, with this delay, there are mixed reactions of frustration and hope. Most have taken the option of using social media to air their discontent, while others merely hope that the updates next will be the Cryo ones.
Though elusive and elusive yet in re-run, Shenhe will surely be brought excitement by Citlali in Cryo. Until then, though, the Cryo community can only hope and wait for the next major update when, hopefully, their favourite Cryo unit returns to the banner.
