COD Black Ops 6 faces backlash as Activision cuts Battle Pass rewards from 1,400 to 1,100 COD Points in Season 1. Fans calling the move 'super lame'.
The latest move from Activision in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has heated the debate, rather than helping unite the community. The publisher has cut the COD Points earned from Season 1 Battle Pass from 1,400 to 1,100. Frustration abounds over what players feel constitutes a diminished value, setting aside opinions about the new season that seems to have brought so much excitement thus far in terms of maps, modes, and updates.
A Major Cutback in Rewards
With the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1, Activision reduced the reward of COD Points that players earn through its Battle Pass from 1,400 to 1,100. This 300-point drop means although gamers will still be able to buy enough COD Points to enjoy a new season's Battle Pass, they will no longer earn additional points to spend on in-game store bundles-a feature that gamers have long cherished.
The change may be a reaction to the "Black Ops 6" launch on October 25, which welcomed new multiplayer maps, modes, and even Warzone updates. This has concentrated the attention on these aforementioned features because most of the fans are voicing their discontent over what they consider to be a value cut.
Community Response: "Super Lame"
News of the decrease has not gone without the COD community speaking up in its dissent. Gaming outlet CharlieIntel was the first to point out the cut, which elicited a backlash on social media. Twitter user JC deemed the move "super lame," while others, like Imswaciey, called for a complete boycott of the Battle Pass in hopes that Activision might reconsider the move.
But that is not all from Battle Pass. After removal of the lovely Stakeout 24/7 playlist, it brings further despair in Season 1.

Season 1: Hits and Misses
Though the launch has been rocky and surrounded with a fair share of controversy, Black Ops 6 Season 1 brings in tangible new content. For Multiplayer, three brand-new multiplayer maps await, with three more to be revealed during the mid-season update. Warzone fans get a new Resurgence map, Area 99, and enhanced mechanics: Omnimovement and a redesigned UI.
However, this move threatens to overshadow these updates with ire from the COD-fans. It means many of the cuts are finding many to brand it as a step back for the franchise.
Will Activision Reconsider?
There's the issue of whether fan backlash will move Activision back down the road. As the controversy continues, just now, the reduction in rewards has left a sour note on what could have been a triumphant new chapter for Black Ops 6.
As the Season 1 content continues to play, the loss of rewards still hangs over the fans like the sword of Damocles. Is Activision going to silence the backlash by bringing back the lost 1,400 COD Points or is this a final change set for the Battle Pass? For now all that people can do is to watch and hold their mouths together.
