Hi everyone, we are back with another episode of 1v1 with India Today Gaming, the interview series where we chat about the Indian gaming industry. In this episode, we got a chance to sit with Siddhant Narayan, the Head of Marketing at OnePlus India. As in the past, we spoke about games and how gamers are an important audience for OnePlus. Narayan also likely teased the aspects that the company may focus on with its upcoming OnePlus 9 flagship smartphone series.
During the conversation, we spoke about how OnePlus collects feedback about future devices from gamers. In addition, we also spoke about the most requested demands from smartphone gamers. This can also sever as a hint at what OnePlus thinks is important from the much-anticipated flagship lineup of devices. Considering the Domin8 series from 2020, we also inquired if the company was working on more eSports tournaments for fans.
We also discussed aspects of thermal management, the challenges that OnePlus faces, sustained performance, and more in smartphones. However, Narayan stopped shy of revealing the exact details of the upcoming device lineup in the conversation with us. Siddhant also spoke about the work that OnePlus does with game developers and publishers for unique partnerships and experiences. Finally, we also spoke about OxygenOS, all the gaming-centric features that come in the software, and what may come in the future.
Narayan is a veteran in the marketing industry and has worked with a number of popular brands. Some of his past work experience includes Nike, Reliance Jio, and Daniel Wellington. At OnePlus, he started his journey back in January 2020, just weeks before the pandemic paralyzed life across the globe. During our conversation, we noted how COVID-19 has changed things in the video game industry for the better.
