Sony PS5 DualSense controller tear-down video, details
According to a report from Polygon, the tear-down video goes through everything that Sony has added in the DualSense controller. This includes how the variable, adaptive triggers work, newer-form of haptic feedback, the repair-ability, and more. TronicsFix, the YouTube channel behind the video going through all the aspects of the controller. This extends all the way from the unboxing to disassembly and close inspection of individual components. The video notes that the DualSense controller is quite advanced when compared to DualShock 4. It outlines how Sony has used sophisticated technology for haptic feedback including a spiral gear to varied resistance.
The interesting part about the design is that Sony has used modular design in the PS5 DualSense controller. This ensures that the controller can be easily fixed with replaceable parts. The spiral gear mentioned above allows the controller to simulate a gun jam or to simulate the feeling of drawing a bow. Sony has also added a larger battery with 1,560mAh capacity.
However, not everything is transformed when it comes to the internals of the controller. For instance, the analog sticks in DualSense are identical to the ones in DualShock 4. This similarity extends to the weaknesses of the controller where the sticks may exhibit drift issues. As noted previously, the controller is set to launch with the PlayStation 5 on November 12 on the global stage. Though, we still don’t know the information around availability in India. Finally, the company has priced the PS5 DualSense controller at Rs 5,990.
