Reliance Jio has just shared a significant announcement around the eSports segment in the Indian market. According to the announcement, the company is holding its first eSports tournament. JioGames, the subsidiary of Reliance Jio has teamed up with FreeFire to hold this gaming competition. The company is calling this new tournament as JioMart Game-a-thon or even JioMart Gameathon. Interested players can start practicing their skills for FreeFire as the registrations have started. Looking at the JioMart Gameathon from JioGames, we got to know some vital details around the event. First up, interested FreeFire players can head to the website to register to take part in the event. The tournament is set to kick-off on October 30th and will conclude on November 1st. The competition will use single elimination to decide the outcome of matches. Reliance Jio also noted that players will be competing for a total prize pool of Rs 25,000. This event is divided into four rounds including the Qualifier stage, the Quarter Finals stage, the Semi-Finals, and the Grand Finale.
JioGames is also limiting the competition to a total of 576 teams. The qualifier stage is set to kick off on October 31 while the rest of the three rounds will take place on November 1st. Beyond elimination, the competition will also use the “best of 1” format in all the lobbies during the Qualifier, Quarter Finals, and the Grand Finale. Considering the global pandemic Coronavirus still raging on, this competition will be held online. However, the company noted that players will be responsible for their devices, internet connectivity, and lagging. The winning team will take home a prize worth Rs 16,000.
