We already know some information about most of these aspects from previous teasers. However, let’s take a closer look at the PUBG Season 9 update here.
PUBG Corp has just shared the detailed patch notes for its upcoming season. In addition to the patch notes regarding the update, the company also reaffirmed the launch date for the new season. As previously reported, the company will launch PUBG Season 9 on October 21 for PC. Gamers on other platforms including PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia will get the update on October 29. The highlights of the update include a new Paramo map, survivor pass, and ranked mode. We already know some information about most of these aspects from previous teasers. However, let’s take a closer look at the PUBG Season 9 update here.
PUBG Season 9 and new Paramo map details
According to the patch notes, the new Paramo map comes with multiple dynamic elements. This means that the location of buildings and compounds on the map will change with each new map. Beyond the dynamic nature of the map, we will also get active lava flows on the map. These lava flows will deal damage both to the players as well as vehicles. So, indirectly, the lava flow area will work as the blue zone on the map dealing out damage to players. Players can search for crates and compounds for extra supplies along with special “keys” to access a secret room. The 3x3 map will also introduce the “Critical Response Kit” which revives an injured team member in one second.
It is also interesting to note that players can take down support helicopters carrying drops with cargo boxes to get the loop early. This means that players do not need to wait for the helicopter to reach the drop zone to get cargo boxes. Season 9 update is already available on the test servers for PC as it lands on console test servers today.
Other finer details note that the Paramo map will be available as a “seasonal match exclusive” due to its dynamic nature. These matches do not come with any bots and don’t count to your overall career stats. Players also can’t access Battlestat feature on such matches and they can even complete missions. Paramo map allows 64 players at once and does not feature any red zones. The blue zone shrinks slowly on the map, but it deals “more damage” right from the beginning. Other changes include a new ranked season with the player and leader-board ranks reset, G-Coin, improvements to ranked solo mode, ranked rules, and more.
