The highlight of the latest Tiger Lake-H series CPUs is the Intel Core i9-11980HK processor. Let’s check everything we know around the latest 11th-gen Intel H-Series Mobile CPUs including features and models here.
Semiconductor giant Intel has just launched its latest 11th-gen H-Series CPUs for gaming laptops. This announcement comes four months after the company announced the first batch of 11th-gen H-series processors at CES 2021. These CPUs were aimed at ultra-portable gaming laptops instead of the top-of-the-line, no-compromise gaming laptops. The highlight of the latest Tiger Lake-H series mobile CPUs is the Intel Core i9-11980HK processor. Intel claims that this processor is the “world’s best gaming laptop processor” in the market with up to 5.0 GHz clock speed. Let’s check everything we know around the latest 11th-gen Intel H-Series Mobile CPUs including features, models, and more here.
11th-gen Intel H-Series Mobile processors out; details
Besides the clock speed, the other important feature that users will get includes 20 PCIe Gen 4.0 lanes. We also get up to 32 Graphics EU with Intel Iris Xe architecture on the 11th-gen mobile CPUs. However, this number is lower than the H35 HPUs that launched earlier this year. This lineup comes with support for resizable BAR as well as Intel Quick Sync Video to offer better gaming performance. Intel has also added support for DDR4 3200MHz memory, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6E, and dual-embedded Display Port. Like the first batch of 11th-gen Intel processors, the new H-Series processors are “based on 10nm SuperFin process technology.”
On the performance side, the 11th-gen processors offer “up to” 19 percent speed enhancement when compared with the 10th-gen. The company also stated that its Intel Core i0-11980HK (8 cores and 16 threads) can reach up to 5.0GHz on two cores with the help of its Turbo Boost 3.0 technology. 11980HK can also achieve up to 4.5GHz all-core speeds to offer good performance for gaming and content production. Looking at the SKUs, we get 5 models across the Core i9, i7, and i5. These include the Intel Core i9-11980HK, i9-11900H, i7-11800H, i5-11400H, and i5-11260H.
In addition to the consumer lineup, Intel also announced its enterprise vPro H-Series series of mobile processors with Core i9-11950H. Besides, we also got the Intel Xeon W-11000 series Mobile processors, based on the 11th-gen Intel vPro platform. The difference between the consumer and enterprise CPUs is the inclusion of some features. These include support for ECC (Error Correcting Code) memory, Intel Hardware Shield, Total Memory Encryption, Active Management Technology, and Deep Learning Boost.
