EWar kickstarts FreeFire Mahasangram eSports tournament with a Rs 1.5 lakh prize pool

Online gaming platform EWar has just kickstarted a new eSports tournament for the Indian market. The company is calling this new tournament “FreeFire Mahasangram” and this is a follow-up tournament after the “PUBG Mahayudh”. The company confirmed that this is the first major event for 2021. As the name suggests, this tournament will focus on Free Fire, a popular battle royale smartphone game by Garena. As per the announcement, the company shared the details regarding the tournament including the prize pool of the tournament. EWar FreeFire Mahasangram starts, details
According to the announcement, EWar claims that its latest tournament is “one-of-its-kind” where teams will compete against each other. The registrations for the eSports tournament concluded on January 17 and the event will go on till January 31, 2021. We also got to know that the tournament comes with a prize pool worth Rs 1.5 lakh. EWar also stated that several established Free Fire teams will take part in the tournament. It is worth noting that the event is open for both professional as well as casual players. The company has divided the tournament into four different stages. These include the qualifiers, quarterfinals, semi-finals, and finals.
Casual players need to rise through the ranks to reach the semi-finals while the professionals will directly reach the semi-finals. Some of the teams taking part in the FreeFire Mahasangram eSports tournaments include Total Gaming, Noble eSports, GXR eSports, GZ Army, Team chaos, and more. EWar also claims that “at least” 5000 teams are expected to take part in the tournament. Each team comprises four members taking the number of participants to at least 20,000.
Looking at the prize details, the winning team, first runner-up, and second runner-up will take home Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 30 thousand, and Rs. 10 thousand, respectively. EWar CEO and Founder Parth Chadha also issued a statement as part of the start of the tournament. Chadha added, “As with the other big esports tournaments hosted by EWar in the recent past, the ‘FreeFire Mahasangram’ will also attempt to provide a great platform for budding FreeFire gamers of our country to compete and prove their gameplay against some of the renowned ‘pro’ squads.”
