Overwatch 2 release date and time in India; Here are Overwatch 2 requirements, download size, and more

Overwatch drew its last breath on October 2 when it was finally shut down for good. Many Overwatch fans felt nostalgic but there’s a bittersweet feeling all around. Overwatch 2 is on the horizon and it launches tonight worldwide. Blizzard Entertainment’s highly-anticipated sequel will be a free-to-play FPS shooter and we’ve listed down the release time for the game across the globe including India.

Overwatch 2 release time in India

Overwatch 2 will be releasing on October 4 and here’s the time depending on your region: 

October 4

UK: 8 pm (BST)
Europe: 9 pm (CEST)
East Coast US: 3 pm (EDT)
West Coast US: 12 pm (PDT)

October 5

India: 12:30 pm (IST)

While you wait for the game to drop, there are a couple of things you can do to get ready to jump into the game the moment it arrives.

For starters, it’s mandatory for all players to have a Battle.net account so if you’re a new player, you should create a new account. Make sure you also set up two-factor authentication as well. Both PC and console players must have a Battle.net account in order to play Overwatch 2. 

Another thing to note for newcomers is that you’ll have to play 100 matches of Overwatch 2 just to unlock the entire character roster. As for returning players, they would not have to put in that grind and will have the entire character roster available right at launch. 

Another perk for returning players is that they’ll be able to merge their progression from Overwatch to Overwatch 2. Blizzard has made it possible for players to bring their progress onto the new game, even if players are switching platforms.
