Arriving in October, Intel Arc A770 is priced similar to Nvidia's RTX 3060 but looks set to offer better performance.
Intel has just announced their high-end Arc A770 GPU and it will be launching on October 12th. The company has priced A770 at $329 and to put it in context, it’s priced similar to Nvidia’s RTX 3060. However, A770 is easily expected to perform better than Nvidia’s RTX 3060. Intel has also announced XeSS, their upscaling technology to render games at lower resolutions and then use AI to upscale frames to boost FPS.

Intel is officially announcing pricing for its top Arc graphics card today. The top-of-the-line Arc A770 will arrive on October 12th, starting at $329. This price matches that of Nvidia’s RTX 3060, a card that the A770 is expected to comfortably outperform. Intel has surprisingly also released the first version of XeSS as Shadow of The Tomb Raider became the first game to support Intel’s supersampling technology.
Intel recently shared results which showed A770 outperforming Nvidia’s RTX 3060 at 1080p in ray-traced games. Intel has also claimed that the A770 offers 65% better ray-tracing performance than “the competition”.
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger addressed the launch of the Intel Arc series’ top-end GPU and said, “We’ve been seeing that for a long time the price of GPUs is right in this $200–$300 range, but what’s happened in the last few years is that they’ve gotten super expensive.”
“You should be frustrated because you are losing out as the gaming community, and today we’re fixing that,” added Gelsinger.

Intel Xe Super Sampling
Intel has quietly released the first version of their XeSS technology. It is now available for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, making it the first game to support Intel’s upscaling technology. The company released XeSS on the same day they launched their A770 GPU. The first patch for XeSS can be found on GitHub.
Intel XeSS is an upscaling technology like Nvidia's DLSS and AMD's FSR 2.0. While Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the first, there are several more games that will soon support Intel XeSS. Gotham Knights, Death Stranding, Grid Legends, Hitman III, Ghostwire Tokyo, Naruka Baldepoint and Superpeople are some of the confirmed games that will be adding support for XeSS.
