Discover how to find and use Mod Benches in Fortnite for weapon upgrades in Week 2 quests. Unlock underground bunkers across the island, gather gold, and boost your arsenal for battle royale domination!
The Mod Benches in Fortnite are a solid way to give your weapons a power boost, perfect for those intense battle royale moments. As part of one of the week two quests, you’ll need to track down these benches and upgrade your guns using gold. If you’re unsure where to go, don’t worry—we’ve got all the details.
The Mod Benches are tucked away inside underground bunkers. You can’t get to them right away, though. You’ll need to wait until the fourth circle forms around the island, which is when the yellow lights flash, signaling the bunkers’ doors are open. Besides upgrading your weapons, these bunkers are treasure troves for rare chests, high-tier firearms, and piles of gold—perfect for stocking up or even buying NPC services.
There are nine spots on the map where you can find these bunkers and use the Mod Benches inside:
- West of the Underworld
- West of Grim Gate
- South side of the Raft
- Crossing the river south of Nitrodome
- West of Mount Olympus
- South of Reckless Railways, near the desert biome
- North of Reckless Railways, between Doom’s POIs
- East of Doomstadt near the roads
- West of Doomstadt in the forest
For the best shot at accessing these bunkers, landing at Reckless Railways or Doomstadt is your safest bet—they each have two bunkers nearby. After you’ve looted up and handled enemy players, head to the nearest bunker and use the Mod Bench to enhance your weapon. Each mod costs 75 gold and can give your weapon upgrades like better recoil control or improved scopes.
One thing to keep in mind: you can’t mod mythic weapons or abilities, but regular weapons are fair game for a tune-up. And if you're low on gold, just break some gold biscuits around the island to stock up for your mods.
Be cautious, though—these bunkers can get noisy and might attract other players, so be quick with your upgrades and ready to defend your spot from any challengers!
