CD Projekt Red has just rolled out a new update for its latest AAA video game, Cyberpunk 2077. This new update comes just days after the game publisher rolled out its first major update, version 1.1. The update does not bring any new features or content to the game. Instead, it is focused on fixing a game-breaking bug that cropped up with the Cyberpunk 2077 version 1.1 update.
The update is currently available on all supported platforms including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia. In addition, CDPR also removed a mod that allowed players to swap character models and have sex with Johnny Silverhand. It also shared a clarification regarding this move to ensure that modders have a clear picture moving forward. Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix for version 1.1 out, details
According to the update announcement, the company outlined that it has restored the “item randomization” to its “previous state”. CDPR also fixed a bug in the “Down on the Street” quest that broke the game after the v1.1 update. As previously reported, Cyberpunk 2077 players have outlined that this bug surfaces in the quest around the “Wait For Takemura's call” objective. This bug removes the dialogue options from the incoming holo call preventing players from proceeding forward with the story. As part, It also stated that it is investigating the “save/load loot exploit” that several players have outlined in the past.
Johnny Silverhand, Keanu Reeves Sex mod removed, details
CDPR also removed a Cyberpunk 2077 mode that allowed gamers to have sex with Johnny Silverhand, the in-game character based on the real-world likeness of Keanu Reeves. The mod in question allowed players to swap character models in the explicit sex scenes. CDPR stated that is all in to allow modders to “tweak the game at will and have fun.” This is in line with the move where the company released its official modding tools online.
In a statement of EuroGamer, the game developer went on to add that it is taking a different stance for characters based on real people. "When it comes to models of real people whom we've asked to participate in the game, we kindly ask you to refrain from using them in any situation that might be found offensive if you don't have their explicit permission." CDPR needs to ask for permissions from real-world counter-parts of the in-game characters before allowing modders to tweak things.
