Amazon Prime Gaming may soon have an official launch in India, with offerings for PC games. Here are all the latest updates that India Today Gaming has received about the India launch of Amazon Prime Gaming.
Amazon Prime Gaming may finally bring PC games to India. The latest update has been spilled on Twitter, where a subscription section for Prime Gaming for India has been spotted. Prime Gaming has been quite a lucrative service in countries where it’s available, with free games for both PC and mobile up for grabs every month. Unfortunately, India still does not have access to PC games that come via Amazon Prime Gaming. However, this may not be the case for much longer. Here are all the updates we now have on the arrival of Prime Gaming for PC in India.
AWS spokesperson confirmed PC games to be coming to India via Prime Gaming
The first tease happened unofficially at the Indian Game Developers Conference 2022 which was held over 3 days, from the 3rd to the 5th of November. The spokesperson from Amazon Web Services has reportedly confirmed that India has grown to become an important market for Amazon Prime to focus on. The platform is now looking to expand its horizon in the Indian gaming industry. It is therefore important for them to make their presence felt in PC Gaming as well. We can thus conclude that Prime Gaming is coming soon to India in its true form by which it is known everywhere else in the world. Regardless, as India is currently a mobile-first market for gaming, we can expect them to increase their offerings for mobile gaming as well in the near future.
"Prime Gaming is now in India" landing page goes live before being removed
The latest update however comes from the spotting of a Prime Gaming subscription page that offers PC Games in India. Industry insider Rishi Alwani has made the screenshots available for the same. However, Alwani also informs that the page is no longer available. Therefore, it may have been an error on the part of Amazon Prime, where the page went live earlier than scheduled. Regardless, the fact that it is a work in progress is now out in the open.
The popularity of Amazon Prime Gaming lies in the fresh line-up of games which includes freebies and in-game content, that it brings every month. Amazon has already announced the catalog of free games for December. The line-up includes titles like Quake, Spinch and Desert Child. There’s also exclusive content for FIFA 23 to celebrate the ongoing FIFA World Cup. To know more, you check out the official blog of Prime Gaming.
