Acer reveals Predator Triton 300 SE, Helios 300, refreshed Nitro 5, Aspire 5, and 7 at CES 2021

Taiwan-based computer hardware giant Acer has just announced its gaming laptop lineup for 2021 at CES. The company shared the specifications, pricing, and launch timeline for new gaming laptops from its Predator Triton and Helios lineups. In addition, we also got a refresh for Nitro 5, Aspire 5, and Aspire 7 at the keynote announcement. Similar to most announcements that we have covered from CES, there is no information on the India launch or pricing. The highlight of these new gaming laptops is new processors from Intel and AMD along with the latest Nvidia GPUs. Acer Predator Triton 300 SE and Helios 300 announced, details
Looking at the 2021 Acer gaming laptop lineup, the highlight is likely the Acer Predator Triton 300SE and the Predator Helios 300. The Predator Triton 300 SE will feature up to the 11th generation Intel Core i7 H35-series Special Edition processor. We also get the recently announced Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 mobile GPU with an updated dual-fan cooling system. Other aspects of the system include a 14-inch FHD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a claimed 10-hour battery backup. Acer has also added DTS Audio support, Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4, and a number of software features on the laptop. The Triton 300 SE starts at $1,399 and it will go on sale from February depending on the market.
Acer Predator Helios 300 gets the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 mobile GPU along with up to 32GB DDR4 RAM. Beyond this, the laptop also gets an IPS panel with a 240Hz refresh rate along with a 3ms response time. Similar to Triton 300 SE, Helios 300 will also come with an upgraded cooling system for better performance. The announcement did not reveal the CPU on the laptop, but we can hope for the latest Intel or AMD chips. Helios 300 will start at $1,249 and go on sale from February depending on the market.
Nitro 5, Aspire 5 and Aspire 7 also announced at CES 2021
Moving to Acer Nitro 5, we will get both AMD as well as Intel options. The Intel variant comes with 11th gen Intel Core H35-series CPU with GeForce GTX GPU and up to 32GB RAM. Talking about AMD, we will get up to Ryzen 9 5900 HX mobile processor with up to GeForce RTX 3080 mobile GPU. Similar to the Intel model, the AMD variant will also get up to 32GB RAM. Other features that are common include M.2 PCIe storage, Wi-Fi 6, and more.
The Intel variant of the laptop comes with a 144Hz refresh rate panel with a 3ms response time and 300nits brightness. Acer has also added Thunderbolt 4 on this model along with a 4-zone RGB keyboard. The Intel variant will be available in two display sizes, the 15-inch, and the 17-inch. Acer Nitro 5 AN515-56 with 15-inch display will start at Euro 999 and the AN517-53 will start at Euro 999. Both the models will go on sale starting from March depending on the market.
Both Acer Aspire 7 and Aspire 5 will come with the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors. Acer has also added up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage on both the device along with Wi-Fi 6 and Type-C charging. Looking at the GPUs, the Aspire 7 will come with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 with up to 32GB RAM while the Aspire 5 will feature AMD Radeon RX 640 GPU with up to 24GB RAM.
The Aspire 7 will come with a 15.6 FHD panel with an improved cooling system. On the other hand, Aspire 5 will come with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel. Both the Aspire 7 and 5 will go on sale starting from February based on the market. We will get Aspire 7 at a starting price of $749.99 and Aspire 5 at a starting price of $549.99.
