Warzone Ranked Play Shutdown: When Will It Return with Black Ops 6?

On October 17, Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 players said goodbye to Ranked Play as developers shift gears for the launch of Black Ops 6. The big question on everyone’s mind: when is Warzone Ranked coming back?

Warzone Ranked: A Hit with a Side of Hacks

Despite a few bumps along the way—looking at you, hackers—Ranked Play in Warzone has been a hit. Players have been grinding hard to climb the ranks, even with some wishing for Ranked Play on the bigger maps. But now, with Ranked gone, there's an air of uncertainty hanging over the Warzone community.

 

 

When Will Ranked Play Return?

Could it be in Black Ops 6 Season 1? The developers have confirmed they aim to bring Ranked Play to Black Ops 6 during Season 1, although it might not be available right at the start. Based on the current Battle Pass schedule, Season 1 should launch around November 13 or 20. Since seasons typically last about eight weeks, Ranked Play could drop anytime between November and mid-January.

What About Warzone Ranked?

It’s possible that Warzone Ranked will return around the same time as Black Ops 6 Ranked Play, but that’s still up in the air. Neither Treyarch nor Raven Software have confirmed an exact date, leaving players to wonder how long the wait will be. There's also the question of which map will host Ranked Play—Fortune’s Keep, Rebirth Island, or maybe even the new Area 99 map?

Ranked Play Drama: Temporary Maintenance or Permanent Pause?

Ranked Play was supposed to go offline for "temporary maintenance" on October 4, but it stayed offline way longer than promised, frustrating players who were eager to get back in the game. It was meant to last only a few hours, but by October 5, Ranked Play was still missing in action.

Ranked Play has had its share of tweaks, from weapon restrictions to calls for better SR adjustments and more servers. While it's temporarily MIA, players are still hopeful for its return with Black Ops 6. Until then, we'll just have to wait and see when Ranked makes its grand comeback!
