Dive into the unique mechanics of Pokémon GO gameplay. Explore the absence of Pokémon Centers, the role of Potions, and strategies to unlock and utilize Max Potions effectively.
The gameplay of the classic Pokemon games is not replicated in Pokemon GO. There are no Pokemon Centres to revive and heal a Pokemon after a battle, but fighting and trade are still possible. Trainers should utilize Potions and Revives instead.
In Pokemon GO, potions come in four different varieties. The Max Potion restores entire health, whereas the ordinary (purple) potion only restores 20 HP. Trainers in Pokemon GO must first revive fainted Pokemon because they cannot be healed. Before collecting and purchasing Max Potions, players who are just beginning their Pokemon GO journey must advance their Trainer Level.
How to get Max Potions
Max Potions become available in Pokemon GO at level 25. They will receive the following when they reach level 25:
- x20 Max Potions
- x25 Ultra Balls
- x15 Revives
- x15 Razz Berry
- x1 Incense
- x1 Egg Incubator
- x1 Lucky Egg
- x1 Lure Module
Pokemon GO players will require 150000 XP in order to advance from level 24 to level 25. In Pokemon GO, there are numerous ways to earn experience points, including spinning Poke Stops and hatching Pokemon eggs, but there are other simpler approaches.
Catch Pokemon
Catching Pokemon is the most straightforward method of XP farming. Each successful catch results in a ranking of the players based on their performance. Here are a few instances:
A Pokemon that has been caught is worth 100 XP, but a Pokemon that has not been added to a player's Pokedex is worth 500 XP.
The value of a nice throw and a curve ball throw is 20 experience points; a great throw is worth 100; and an excellent throw is worth 1000. The first throw catch results in 50 XP.
Days reset at 12:00 a.m./0:00 p.m. local time and the First Catch of the Day awards 500XP.
Players will receive a Seven Day Streak, worth 2500 XP, on the seventh day if they capture a Pokemon every day during that time.
Use A Lucky Egg
Lucky Eggs can occasionally be obtained as a prize for Special Research, but they can also be purchased for 80 Poke Coins from the in-game store. For a total of 500 Poke Coins, 8 Lucky Eggs can also be purchased. For 30 minutes, Lucky Eggs double the XP gain, just like in the original Pokemon games.
Where to Find Max Potions
Trainers can obtain a Max Potion(s) from any of the following once they have reached level 25:
- Spinning a gym or poke stop.
- Opening a Friend's Gift.
- Defeating the Team GO Rocket Leaders.
- Purchasing 10 Max Potions in a bundle from the shop for 200 Coins.
It is preferable to utilize Poke Coins for increasing the Item Bag or Pokemon Storage, both of which cost 200 Coins each since they can only be obtained by leaving Pokemon at Gyms. Although getting Max Potions at Poke Stops or from gifts isn't a guarantee, at least players won't have to pay Poke Coins for them.
How to Use Max Potions
The same procedures apply to Max Potions as they do to Revive or any other type of potion. It is better to use these on Pokemon that are "in the red" or have recently received a standard Revive because they completely restore a Pokemon's health. What to do is as follows:
- Select the Poke Ball icon at the bottom of the screen on the overworld map.
- Choose the Items (backpack) symbol.
- When you select the Max Potion, a page of Pokemon with less than full health will appear.
- To use the potion to heal a Pokemon, tap it.
Max Potions can also be used in the following ways:
- A Poke Ball icon will appear on the overworld map. Tap it.
- Select the Pikachu (Pokemon icon).
- The Pokemon that need healing can be located by scrolling down or by typing its name into the search bar.
- Tap the bottom-right icon (three bars stacked on top of one another) on the summary page for the Pokemon.
- The Max Potion by first choosing Items from the pop-up menu.
The quicker and less laborious technique of healing a Pokemon is the first one (i.e., going straight to Items). Keep in mind that until a Pokemon is initially revived, it cannot consume a Max Potion or any other type of potion. Players can use Revives to resurrect their Pokemon, or they can Power Up the Pokemon by hitting the ‘Power Up’ button on the Pokemon's website.
A Pokemon that has fainted will regain 1 point of health if they are powered up. Candy and Stardust must be purchased for Powering Up. Players might wish to pause before acting, even when it might prevent them from using a Revive.
